Ryan & Adriana got married last weekend at the Secret Garden in Waynesville, and I went along with Ryan Cleary to take some of the photographs. It is so fun to the be “second shooter” on occassion, to get the chance to step back and take time to look for the little details. Here are just a few of my shots from the day!
Music was provided by Viva la Strings, a.k.a. my mama! I recommend them to any couple who asks me about music–they play not only the traditional wedding songs, but whatever you could think to request.
The Garden is so beautiful, as is the lake-side gazebo where they planned to marry:
…but, unfortunately, the weather had different plans for the afternoon, and the ceremony ended up being moved inside. It started raining right before the ceremony, then hailing! It was bouncing all around, off the chapel and into the lake. While I know it wasn’t what they had planned, I can’t help but smile a bit when it rains on a wedding day–I love rain, and firmly believe it is good luck. And, in Ryan & Adriana’s case, having everyone move into the chapel made the day feel so intimate, and everyone felt they were were a part of something incredibly special and unique.
The best “texture”: stand outside, shoot through a rain-streaked window–bonus points if you get drenched yourself :)
And, just a couple shots from immediately after the ceremony, so you can see what we were dealing with. The weather wasn’t messing around!
Have a beautiful weekend!
