Lying on a blanket, watching the fireworks, I turned to Zack and said, “Aren’t we lucky?” Not just that we get to live in a country that, despite it’s flaws, affords us many more freedoms than most–but simply that we are lucky to be able to enjoy such beautiful things, at no cost, and for no reason other than their beauty.
We saw these Saturday night, then spent last evening sharing a few drinks with friends and lighting sparkers–here is a bit of the result:

I couldn’t think of a more perfect way to celebrate. I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing holiday, surrounded be the people you love. And that maybe you get to see some fireworks, if you haven’t already.
