my new space

Just a few weeks ago I finished up and moved into my beautiful new office space at the Event Connections here in Dayton (it is the same building where I was located before, but a much larger space, in a perfect location right across the hall from the lovely Colleen of It’s Sew Amazing). I wish I had a good before picture but, suffice it to say, it wasn’t so pretty. We put in the floors, painted all the wall, and Suzy spent an evening creating the most beautiful chalk designs on the walls. I’ve still got some details I’d like to add and a couple things to finish up, but I’m so thrilled with how it has come together–its so calm and pretty! I feel like I finally have a space where I can meet with clients that really reflects my style. Stop by some time to say hello, and see it in person– and I’d love to hear what you think!

Meet Leah, a gorgeous senior gal. (You may remember her from some family photos we took a while back–it is always such an honor when clients return to me to document different points in their families’ lives!). We took her senior portraits around her home and downtown in Centerville.

Carole & Cody’s relationship has been like a tour of Ohio: they met and fell in love in high school, near Zanesville, moved to Oxford to study at Miami and, next year, will be getting married in Columbus. And, now, they’ve just left this state for new adventures in a new home, and will be planning their wedding from afar. It is such a special kind of love, isn’t it, that not only survives, but grows, through the ups and downs of high school and college, and moves across the state and country? And, their engagement session was just magical–we wandered all around Miami University’s gorgeous campus (perfect for these “Miami Mergers”), jumped in the fountain, caught a butterfly, and watched a deer walk right in front of our path. Carole & Cody, I’m so excited to be the one to document your love, thank you for showing us around Oxford, and we just simply can’t wait until your wedding!

I was so excited when Eric messaged me a couple of weeks ago, asking if I’d be willing to come down to Eden Park in Cincinnati and to photograph him proposing to Christina (um, yes!). We emailed back and forth all week, making sure I knew what they looked like and where they’d be (as I wouldn’t get the chance to meet Eric beforehand!). After she said yes, we headed over to the Rookwood in Mt. Adams for some quick portraits, which Christina said has the best view of the city–and after taking these, I’d certainly have to agree :).
