craft dayton recap

On the second Friday of May, my dear friend Bley (of Bibliosophy Handmade) and I hosted the first Craft Dayton craft night at the ever-awesome Rock My Studio–and it was such a great time! We had an embroidery project taught by Melissa of SewSweetStitches, and everyone’s creations looked fantastic at the end of the night. There also were refreshments (including the most to-die-for chocolate chip cookies from Thistle Confections!), that gorgeous, hand-lettered sign that Suzy created, and gift bags full of goodies from local artists A Remark You MadeHazyDazyMazyBarmaid Soap Co, Bibliosophy & I. Be sure to check out the Craft Dayton website for information about upcoming craft nights, including our next event in July!

the willow tree: jess & david

Jess & David were married last weekend at the gorgeous Willow Tree (one of my favorite venues!), and filled the barn with so many personal & vintage details. They only booked us to be there through the ceremony and portraits, and we were so sad to leave before the party got rolling because these two were just so happy & beautiful together, and so easy to photograph! Congratulations to Jess & David–and to Jess’s sister Kelly, whom I used to work with at MotoPhoto, who introduced us, and who welcomed her sweet baby girl just a few days after her sister’s wedding. So much joy for their family! And, don’t forget, you can visit my proofing site to see all the photos from the day and order copies for yourself, if you’d like (here)!

dayton senior: emma

Meet Emma! We took her senior pictures a few weeks ago all around the Oregon District here in Dayton. Her makeup was done by Emily  (the first time ever that she had her makeup done!), and doesn’t she look just stunning?

igloo letterpress

Like a lot of photographers, I’m a total paper junkie. I handmade my wedding invitations, get a little overly excited about gorgeous, thick felt album pages, and have a bit of a vintage paper goods hoarding problem. And, the epitome of paperness is, of course, letterpress. A few weeks ago, Bley and I headed to Columbus for Igloo Letterpress studio for a short workshop. Igloo offers many different classes, some much more extensive, but the Stationary Project was the perfect short introduction to letterpress–and will definitely make you want to come back for more!
