I’m so excited to be collaborating Bley (of Bibliosophy Handmade) to put together the upcoming Craft Dayton event–a fun and chic “new downtown craft night.” Craft Dayton will take place in downtown Dayton on May 10, from 7-9 p.m. (the night of Urban Nights, so you can explore all that the city has to offer before and after!). We’ll do a felted embroidery project (taught by Melissa Davison of Sew Sweet Stitches), enjoy refreshments & swag bags, and have a fantastic time! The cost is $30, and all materials are included. It is going to be such a fun time, and spots are limited, so you’ll want to register soon–email bibliosophy@gmail.com to register–and follow the Craft Dayton blog for updates!
Gorgeous illustrations and flyer by the talented Kristen Calhoun!
Abby & Andrew were married last month in Rocky Mount, NC, with their reception held at the (functioning!) Amtrak Station in town. They couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day or a more perfect, unique location. This whole wedding was just bursting at the seams with love, joy, and beautiful details (hand-made by Abby herself).
These turned out beautiful Abby!
Briana, these photos are absolutely beautiful!
Thanks so much, Meredith! I was so happy to be a part of this wedding :)
Briana- I’ve been anxiously awaiting these and am absolutely thrilled!! You did a magnificent job! It was so great to have you and Zack here, you’re a great team. Thank you just isn’t enough.

Two weekends ago, we photographed a wedding in Rocky Mount, NC (which was just stunning, and I absolutely cannot wait to share with you). We happened to have a little gap in our schedule the following week, and decided to take a little side trip to the Asheville area. Well, we actually stayed in charming little town of Marshall, MC (pop. 872). The first few photos are from our time exploring there: from Good Stuff, the only little bar/restaurant open in town (and inside an old church); Penland & Sons department store; Pot Pie, which makes the most incredible pot pies we’ve ever had; and Bowman Hardware store. We also popped by the nearby town of Hot Springs, where the Appalachian Trail runs right through the center of town, and did a bit of hiking.
We spent the most of our short trip in Asheville, just a short drive from Marshall, where we did lots of things, but I only have photos from the Basilica of St. Lawrence, Wicked Weed Brewing & C and Co. All Natural Body Goods (I bought some of their facial cleanser, and have fallen completely in love).
Lastly, this trip was our first experience with Airbnb, and it couldn’t have gone better. In Marshall, we stayed in the home of a lovely woman named Victoria, in the loft of her big, old, restored home at the top of the windingest road. It was so full of little details, and an incredibly relaxing place to stay. I would totally recommend it, if you’re in the area (and Airbnb, in general, if you’re on the fence).
There will be so much wedding beautifulness coming up in the next few weeks that I’m over the moon to share with you soon. Have a beautiful weekend!
Thanks for sharing some of your personal work and some of the great places you were able to enjoy!
Oh Asheville, I love you in all your artsiness!
Love your photos more; I’m already planning a trip!
Sweet, new baby Avila, photographed at home (where we took her mama’s portraits, and where she was also born).
Before & after:
Super cute! I especially love that first shot =)
Thanks, Erin! It is one of my favorites, too :)
