dayton senior portraits: hannah

Has it really been so long since my last post? Not for lack of being busy! The beginning of this year has been full of both behind-the-scenes work, getting ready for a busy upcoming wedding season, and some really exciting photo shoots–the first of which being the lovely Hannah’s senior portraits in downtown Dayton. She is an artist, and wanted to have her photos taken in unique locations that represented her personality. I think we were able to find just the perfect spots!

personal: new year

A 2013 goal of mine is take and share more photos of our personal lives. We realized over the holidays that we’ve barely any photos at all of the last couple years of our lives, which is so strange. So: birthday-ing, Christmas-ing and chainsaw-ing with Z’s family and our sweet nephew;  teaching my grandfather to play Wii Bowling; and Griffin in the thundersnow.

thank you!

Before signing off for the holidays, I wanted to take a moment to say “thank you”–to everyone who might read this blog from time to time, to my loving friends and family for their constant support and, most especially, to the dear couples who invite me into their wedding days, and who allow me the privilege of photographing their love for one another. Thank you! I’m so excited for this upcoming year’s weddings, including a few of these lovely couples below (if you’re interested, send me a note, as dates are booking up quickly!). Be sure to follow along in the year ahead! But now, here are just a few of my favorites images of the couples who I’ve had the joy of photographing this year–and have a safe and happy holiday!

dayton wedding: adrianna and cj

The lovely Oregon-based photographer Kim invited me along to assist her at Adrianna & CJ’s wedding, and I couldn’t have been more excited. Kim (who you may remember) couldn’t be sweeter to work with, and this wedding was absolutely stunning. The ceremony was held at the gorgeous Elandee, and their reception at the Packard Museum here in Dayton. Many thanks to Kim for allowing me to come along and be a part of photographing such a beautiful day!

bibliosophy handmade

I took a little bit of an unintentional blogging break–I apologize! Sometimes life just gets in the way, I suppose. But, after a family-filled, relaxing Thanksgiving, I’ve got quite a few lovely things to share with you soon. In particular, I had such a fun time recently photographing some of the newest creations by Bibliosophy Handmade (a.k.a., the dear Bley). All of her beautiful, hand-illustrated designs–including gift tags, Christmas cards, recipe cards, and a gorgeous 2013 desk calendar–would make lovely Christmas gifts for anyone who appreciates things that are hand-crafted and vintage inspired, and are available in her shop. Be sure to stop by her blog to see more photos and to learn about her (and all the creative activities she does with her family!), then head to her shop to check out her work!
