columbus wedding photographer: damaris and michael

Nowadays, most of the weddings I photograph are for my own clients. Recently, however, I’ve partnered with a lovely Columbus photographer named Amanda to be her second photographer on a few weekends that I happen to not have a wedding of my own scheduled. And, how grateful I was to get to be a part of Damaris & Michael’s wedding at the Potter’s House Church in Columbus! Their day was full of bright, beautiful details, including a huge candy table and individual cakes for each table, made by the bride herself. Here are just a few of my photographs from the day–and thanks to Amanda for having me along!

weekend instagrams

A few Instagrams from my trip to Texas (all except those brass cranes, who I picked up at a thrift store right before I left): view from a ferris wheel; a horse named Sugar; Whataburger; and ice cream two ways–fried, then keeping me company during our four-hour delay before our final flight home.

After this weekend (spent in the Zanesville area), I won’t be traveling any  more for a little while and (though these summer’s adventures have been a blast!), it’ll be nice to be home. I have to admit, I’ve started thinking about sweaters and bonfires and all those wonderful things about fall! What are you most looking forward to this autumn?

The main purpose of our trip to Texas was to meet this little man, my newest nephew, Josiah. And, being a Texas cowboybaby (with a mom and dad that are both totally comfortable atop a horse!), we had take just a few photos with a lil’ camo :)

travels & happy weekend!

Hello! I wanted to pop in, as posting has been light this week, and let you know that I’m currently traveling–in Texas right now, then off to southeastern Ohio about a week. I do still have internet access, so I expect to be able to answer emails and post here occasionally, but it might be a bit spottier than usual.

Looking forward to exploring the Galveston area today–a new city always feels like a bit of an adventure, doesn’t it? I’ll have so many lovely photos to share when I return. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, with an adventure of your own!

inkodye!

instagram inkodye

Yesterday my friend Bley invited me over to play with Inkodye–photosensitive dye that you can use on just about any surface. It is remarkably easy to use–just paint it on, put whatever you’d like over the ink, and set it in the sun for the light to expose your image. Bley used some flowers to create an organic design (on the left), while I (erm, rather sloppily) taped off a more graphic one. I can’t wait to get some and play with it some more, especially to create some more “photographic” images using negatives. What a great way to explain the basic concept of exposure–I’m seeing a photography class lesson here, for sure! And be sure to check out the company’s Pinterest to see some really cool examples of the final products that people have created.
